About Magnolia Pitches/Cottage

The five grass pitches at Magnolia Pitches sit within a quiet, private 1.75‑acre level field to the south of Magnolia Cottage. Two additional gravel pitches lie between the field and the bungalow, offering an alternative setup while maintaining the same feeling of space and calm.

The certificated site came with the bungalow when Becky and Paul purchased it in 2021. Since then, they’ve listened closely to guest feedback and made a number of thoughtful improvements. They take real pleasure in running the site and welcoming the people who stay with them — including many familiar faces who return year after year.

The entire Crescent forms part of the historic Snigs End Chartist Settlement, a rare and fascinating chapter in 19th‑century social history and is one of five settlements throughout Britain. In the 1840s, the Chartist Co‑operative Land Society created smallholdings here as part of a bold plan to give working people access to land, independence, and — crucially — the right to vote. Ledbury Road Crescent still reflects that original vision: generous plots, distinctive cottage layouts, and a landscape shaped by the ideals of fairness and opportunity. Staying here means being surrounded by that heritage — a quiet rural setting with a story woven into the land itself.
